Yes, I know, I just posted one of these for Frankford Arsenal,
but I have one more I wish to acknowledge.
    I recently obtained (in a trade) an Auto-Ordnance PKZ1911
Model 1911A1 .45 Caliber pistol. It was in new condition,
without a mark or scar to indicate that it had ever been shot.
When I took it to the Range to test it out, I found that it
would fail to extract on about 1 in every 5 or 10 rounds fired.
After shooting about 200 rounds through it, it was failing to
    extract every round.
I had heard that since Kahr took over the Auto-Ordnance company,
their quality had improved many fold and that the Kahr models were
excellent pistols. Since mine was made in Worchester, Mass, it
was a Kahr and I took my case to them. I emailed their Customer
Service Dept. and had a reply back within 24 hours. After a
couple of additional emails, we both agreed that the problem
was probably a bent extractor. The gentleman there stated that
was not a problem, he would send me out a new extractor right
away, NO CHARGE. I told him that the gun was not new, I was
at least the second owner, but it showed very little signs of
use. He replied that the extractor should not be bent and that
Kahr would be happy to replace it if I was comfortable in
changing it myself. I already had it apart, so no problem there.
In just a couple of days my new extractor arrived, I put it in
and VOILA no more problem. During the replacement, I compared
the new extractor to the old one and re-bent the old one to be
the same as the new one. I now have a working pistol, and a
spare extractor, both at no charge.
KUDOS to Auto-Ordnance/Kahr for their excellent Customer Service!
    (and they speak excellent English!)
