Hold on to you underwear--I was at the southern S/S shoot (sporting clays) in Sanford NC this spring and saw a side by side for sale at $250 K (yep $250,000.00)--probably would have taken less for cash !

Gentlemen, 23 K for a guy. If you really want to get rolled back on your heels check out Paxton Arms and duPont Krieghoff web sites they have a couple of used krieghoffs in the 30k, 40k and 50k price. Pretty guns but even according to dupont krieghoff they can go higher

Seems as though I was in the Perazzi building at the Grand a few years ago and they had a 4 gun set for $435,000.00.

AND YOU CAN"T EVEN TAKE ONE TO THE PRACTICE TRAP!!!

$435,000? For 4 guns? Were they all solid gold for heavens sake? Really now, what on earth would constitute pricing like that?

2005 Grand at Vandalia. Perazzi 4 gun set. Took a picture of the price tag as I noone at home would believe it. I wonder how many of these they sell a year?

I have seen several beautiful guns that were priced very high. All had excellent engraving and exceptional wood. I have seen several paintings that were priced well above $100,000 and they looked like something even I could produce. If I had my choice of purchasing a nice gun for $100,000 or a piece of modern art for $100,000, I know what I would select. I also realize that the modern art piece would have more potential customers than the high priced gun. I would never call anyone "nuts" for selection either the gun or the art. Different people like different things.

Or, you could pony up $40 million for a good painting. Who says a lousy $23K is a lot for a gun? Hell, a decent baseball will bring a million; and old pair of Elvis sunglasses $100K.

I look at the price of $411,143.00 and I wonder what am I getting for that last $3.00. I might go $411,140.00 for the set but you better throw in something nice for the extra three bucks.

ljutic73- Not only are the H&H and Purdey guns very expensive, they all have a narrow comb that really whacks my cheek when I try to shoot one. At the H&H shooting range, the instructor/gun fitter will repeatedly tell one to not put their cheek firmly on the stock. Gentlemen do not shoot a shotgun that way.
