I recently bought a used K-80 with several barrels. One is a 34" Model 32 top single. When I was detail cleaning it today, I found this unit in the bottom stub barrel. It's a steel rod about 11" long threaded at both ends, one screwing into the aluminum barrel plug, and the other into a brass end piece. There are brass tubing spacers of different lengths, and two brass weights that can be positioned anywhere along the rod. The only marking is "Germany" on the end piece.

Obviously, this is to adjust the gun's balance in a way similar to the Blaser buttstock units.

It seems like a good idea, but I've never seen one of these before. Does anyone have information on this unit?
