I have a k-80 and the rib at the muzzle end is completely attached to the upper barrel. I was considering also getting a kolar, however in some of the pictures that I have seen it appears that the rib, the sight plane itself, is not actuallt attachet to the barrel just the post that it sits on. This causing the rib to look like a "T" if you were to look at it head on with just the front post being the only part attached. My concern is that this is not the most structuraly sound method of attaching and I am afraid that the rib could get bent one way or the other. If someone has a close up photo of a kolar barrel from the muzzle end it would answer my question.

You will never have a problem with a Kolar rib. Not going to happen.
