1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

    NEW DEAL

Based on the suggestion of several members on this site I have decided to break-up the Kimber Package and offer it as individual items. The items are priced as follows:

Kimber .45 cal. (Kimber Barrel and adjustable rear sight)$1000(SOLD PENDING FUNDS)

    Adco Red Dot Reticle $165

    Kart Barrels (3) $100 Each

Kimber .22cal Conversion Kit $175 (SOLD PENDING FUNDS)

I am still open to trades and offers...

    Thanks,

    Doc

The Kimber is set up for NRA Bullseye Competition. I purchased it from a retired Marine Major who suffered health problems and was unable to continue shooting. I competed with it until two years ago when I was introduced to trap and as we say in the South "that was all she wrote". I have been shooting trap since and have not fired it.

It is offered as a package including:

KImber Classic Gold Match .45 Pistol

Adco red dot reticle(not one of the cheap Chinese models)

.22 caliber Kimber conversion kit (drilled and tapped for reticle)

Three Kart ramped barrels fitted to the pistol

Spare parts (Les Baer, Ed Brown, etc.)

The Major told me that Cylinder and Slide(Fremont, Nebr.) had performed the custom work to set the pistol up for bullseye competition and it cost almost $1000. I talked to Jon Tank at C&S last week but he was unable to find the order ticket to confirm the work; however, he said most of it looked like their work but he could not confirm all of it without examining the pistol. Five rounds fired from a Ransom rest resulted in a five shot group less than 2" at 50 yards. Somebody did some good work!

I am asking $1800 for everything including insured shipping. Offers and trades are welcome. I have tried to be as accurate as possible so please ask questions. The pistol is at Styx River Shooting Center in Robertsdale, Al. and will be shipped from there.

    MACH4RANDY,

I purchased a new adjustable open sight from Kimber and replaced the red dot reticle with it. I tried to carry the pistol while I was on a couple of trips but it was just too heavy for me. I have it but I will need to search for it.

I don't know how many rounds have been through the pistol but everything is tight. I put about 2000 rounds through it as a .45 and a lot more with the .22 conversion kit but I can't say for sure about the previous owner. He had a LOT OF PISTOLS so this was not his only shooter; hardball was his favorite so I imagine that set of pistols saw most of the use. There are 3 Kart barrels and the Kimber barrel that came with the pistol so the wear has been spread around. Sorry but I can not be more specific.

What Barry said. Put the gun back to stock shape, and part out the other stuff.

    Barry,
I think you are right; however, it has only been on here since Friday. You have more experience than I do; do you think it has been long enough?

Thanks for the input Shooting Coach. Putting it back to stock status will be limited to replacing the red dot reticle with open sights and replacing the Kart barrels with the Kimber barrel. The high end gunsmithing can not be reversed. Do you think that will be enough?

    Hi JP,
I want to trade for a trap shotgun, preferably a Perazzi but I am flexible.

You will basically eat the "high end gunsmithing". Put the stock sights and barrel back on it and part the rest of the stuff out.

    Coach,
Thanks again for your interest and advise. It is well received. I have two people who are interested in the package so I will pursue this to its conclusion before doing anything.

    Good luck with your sale.

Been there, done that on Bullseye guns. Very limited market. I have three custom Natl' Match 1911's. Don't want to even think about what I have in them, and what they would bring if sold. (sigh)
