75 out of 75 at the World Championships in Tucson.

    NEW World Record!

Home field advantage, the USA finishes 1, 3, and 4 in women's skeet.

I'm joking of course. Kim is unbelievable. She is like a machine and seems to be getting better and better every year. Thanks for the update Timb.

I forgot to add that she shot a 24 in the finals for an overall 99, which equals a final world record.

What was the venue in Tucson? The recently renovated Tucson Gun Club?

This young woman is absolutely amazing. Is there any shotgun discipline she can't shoot at a world-class level?

The following is from one of the articles on the ISSF website:

"The Tucson Trap and Skeet Club, founded in 1948 and an USA Shooting training centre since 2009, is considered one of the oldest and largest clubs in USA. This year, the club will host the ISSF World Cup Series for the first time."

Great job Kim!!!! I've followed this girl since she was 14 yrs old, still have all issues of skeet shooting review mags w/her picture on front. This little girl won the world skeet championships at 15yrs old!!! Don't beleive you will see a weite up of this in the sports pages and it should be a HEADLINE!!!

Look for the women's trap scores because it appears Kim is going to shoot trap for a minimum qualifying score (MQS) which would allow her to shoot traap also in London. Or it might secure another spot so an additional shooter (trap or double trap) could attend. Vince Hancock is doing the same.

Dyed-in-the-wool trapshooters want to know (not me): Did she use 1 1/8 oz. 1200 fps loads? If not, it makes her significant and commendable accomplishment all the more impressive. Regards, Ed

What's the difference between American skeet and International skeet?

Low gun. Up to three second delay on target release.. Can't start the gun until you see the target. Faster birds.

    -------------

The main differences of the game are that the target is a bit larger (110mm versus 108mm), is thrown farther & faster than an american target (72yds@65mph versus 61yds@~50mph), there is a random 0 to 3 second delay from when the shooter calls for the bird, the shooter must shoot from a "low gun" position, and normally loads are restricted to 24.5 grams (~7/8oz).

In addition, in International Skeet there is no "Option" bird and 25 targets are shot as follows from the stations:

    Station 1: H_Single, H-L_Double

    Station 2: H_Single, H-L_Double

    Station 3: H_Single, H-L_Double

    Station 4: H_Single, L_Single, H-L_Double, L-H_Double

    Station 5: L_Single, L-H_Double

    Station 6: L_Single, L-H_Double

    Station 7: L-H_Double

    Station 8: H_Single, L_Single

    Ed,

    Simple answer...no. See Joe's link.

They must use 24 gram loads, which is approximately 7/8 ounce. No velocity limit. Many use 1400-1500 fps loads.

I shoot it periodically over here. It is VERY challenging. Makes NSSA skeet seem easy in comparison.

Station 4 is a killer. Two singles and two pair of doubles!

And you can't even move the gun from the low position until the target comes out!

In the upper right corner of this, what does "multi pull" mean?
