Trust the Government to find a way to reduce inflation (of balloons) while also raising inflation costs (of balloons) by raising prices! Maybe Washington's politicians should "bottle" the hot air coming from them from now until November!

    From the Erie (PA) Times

Helium shortage driving up party balloon prices nationwide

The price of those colorful balloons wafting around birthdays, graduations and weddings might be higher than usual this summer as a result of a shortage of helium.

The pinch — prompted by a 1996 federal law forcing the government to sell off its helium stockpile by 2015 — led many suppliers to raise helium prices by about 11 percent earlier this year, according to the Associated Press.
As a result of the shortage, balloons that now sell for about a dollar could cost significantly more when private suppliers are selling the gas, according to Marty Fish, executive director of the International Balloon Association, based in Wichita, Kan.

More and more, it seems that we can't even trust our lawmakers to pass honest laws!

When they can't even keep their Oath of Office, don't expect them to introduce OR pass Honest laws.

That is just a rule of humanity!

i don't get it. If the government is selling off its supply, that should increase supplies in the open market and in theory, prices should go down. Why would private suppliers raise their prices for reasons other than, they can.
