Just picked up my new stock set for my Trap Special, total turn time was about 6-8 weeks. Got all the Bells and Whistles on it. Mike did a great job on my engraving pattern, where it mimmicks the super scroll work on my receiver. The wood is Turkish Walnut, that was originally purchased from fellow board member DougBBB. Looking forward to shooting it. Pics really don't do it justice!
I wanted to be able to adjust my setup for shooting in the winter and summer. It's not a huge difference, but I like being able to have some adjustability, up, down left or right. +/- LOP When you layer on in the winter, sometimes you need to decrease the LOP etc. In the neutral position, is my summer setup. Just gives me some more options.
That was a great blank, and the way they laid it out is masterful. The grain in the glove portion complements the form of the thumb channel beautifully. It's a superb piece.
Not only is it pretty, but I bet that grip fits like a glove to your hand. That has to be a comfortable grip. Some day I am going to make me one like that. Custom, glove grip stocks are awesome.
Do you know if the bolt hole is directly in the center of the stock? Looks like there is not to much clearance for it through the grip.
It does fit great, I got to shoot it for the first time today.I really like how it fits, still needs work on getting my POI worked out to my liking. Yes TCS stands for Total Control Stock. Also the stock bolt is modified for this stock. They I believe they have an adapter fashioned for the receiver to shorten the bolt and fasten it from another direction from the traditional bolt.
John and Nancy Allem showed me the prototype for those stocks a few years ago and a nearly finished one on a K-80 a few months back. If I still shot a lot of trap, I would be considering one as you have so much control and leverage that holding the gun out in front of you with just that hand is almost easy.
You have to admire the creativity and craftsmanship of the Allem family!
Your poi is set for that unsingle ill bill you later
