I use a small pair of parallel jaw pliers to remove beads. Firm but gentle pressure works well.

If the K80 is like my KX5, then the bead is held on to the rib by a screw which is screwed in from under the rib. Check by removing the rib and looking under the bead.
    Good luck

MY K80 has 3-56 post. But if you put gold bead your eye will almost always do a bead ckeck. Hope this helps.

hi lg, if this is an older k-80 the threaded post you see sticking up out of the rib is all thread. us a little heat to break any loctite that might be present and just unscrew the post. k-80 is different in that they screw the post into the rib then screw the bead onto the threaded post. call or email if you have any questions.doug hubbart gunsmith (573)286-9905 jd28hd@aol.com

You have to remove the rib, the bead is held in place by a screw from under the rib, you can not install a bead that is threaded down into the rib, The factory bead is a female thread, Trust me been there done that.

When unscrewing the bead, use thin leather to avoid scratches.

    Thanks Doug,

That was the response I was looking for. I should have said it was a fixed rib gun from the get go as I have no way of pulling the rib off to unscrew from the bottom. Thanks again. l.g.
