    Hello,

I just acquired an older K-80 with the "K-80" on each side of the receiver. It is "West German" gun so it would be pre-1993 I assume. Can someone explain the differences between this vintage of K-80 and current production? Are some "upgrades" that I should consider? The gun does have a newer set of barrels. Any info is most appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Guy

Call Krieghoff in Ottsville and inquire with your s/n. They will tell you the history of the gun.

I have the K80 signature series and the K80 standard. Other that the outward appearance i see no difference. Remove the stock and they all look the same. For some reason the signature series will bring a couple of grand less. The finish is a turn off to some, I think.

West Germany would be pre-89, not 93

Gene is right, you don't need to do anything. Unless, you have extra cash to burn. Just check the gap between slider and barrel from the side (see attached pictures) and position of top lever.

Thanks for all the replies! I had heard that there was a "trigger update" but from what I am hearing it may not be of much value. I would be interested in knowing what exactly this update entails.

It probably ( cause we dont know what generation is in there- someone may have replaced something already) would entail different hammers- sears and a spring upgrade

If you are a pull trigger shooter dont worry abuout it

Krieghoff triggers in my opinion are the best of all shotgun triggers

    regards from Iowa

How much space in the slider area is proper? Is the amount shown in the photo excessive or is it about proper? Glenn
