My wife came back from Porto Rico with a bottle of Johnnie Walker blue label, it was almost the last on my bucket list to try. I was disappointed that a two hundred dollar bottle could leave that bad a taste in your mouth. It was smooth and tasted good going down but then came the after taste that was the worse I have ever tasted in any. I like Black and Red label.

Any one else noticed this about Blue label.

Of course I suffered and drank it anyhow.

One day a buddy of mine and I walked into a bar. We were sitting there having a few when he spotted this bottle of Johnny Walker blue label on the top shelf. "Let's both get one" he said. After the bartender got down off the ladder and fixed us both a Johnny Walker Blue and water, I exclamed "I gotter" and threw a 20 dollar bill on the bar. The bartender looked at me and said "sir, you don't drink this out in public often, do you". "Whatdya mean?" I said. I looked down at the tab. 2 drinks, $94.50. I threw a 100 dollar bill up on the bar and instructed him to keep the change. I laminated the recept and have it until this day.

Fine with me as long as it's straight. You may also try Royal Salute, I like them both.

For less damage to your wallet, try Balvenie Doublewood.

I drink scotch occasionally and don`t care for any high end bottles . Some I even get heart burn ? I buy Inverhouse and so do my friends . Last week going thru Delaware I picked up 4 1/2 gallon bottles for $15.99 each no tax . To each his own I guess .

If you're going to mix it with water, doesn't much matter.

Just my personal opinion of course.

I agree with Primed. Mixing water with Blue label is sacrilege. I've had quite a few bottles of Blue over the years, and it has always been great. Just not 6 times better than Black which in my opinion is the best scotch (for the money).

    Cheers.

I am surprised there hasn't been a mention of Johnny Walker Swing. Very nice and smooth whiskey.

I like the high end stuff but dont pop for it often because of the $$$. When I do it is Glenroths - Normally I stick with Famous Grouse. I never had a Johnny Walker that I liked but I will try the Green but right now I am having a Famous Grouse Gold Reserve
