I got the dreaded news that John (Buck, Mitch,) Mitchell passed away late Sat.
evening of lung cancer....John was the 1975 Michigan State Singles Champion....he was known for his black cowboy hat and Winchester Model 12

Real shame and now he is in a better place. It won't be the same around the Jackson club.

I met John years ago. Sorry to hear of his passing. He was the only one that broke 200 at the 75 state shoot. Jess

Watched him at Mason many times, the black hat, a white shirt, that Model 12 and smokin the clays...he was one of a kind...may he rest in peace.

    regards

A very nice and genuine person. He will be sorely missed in the mid-Michigan area. Rest in peace BUCK. JOND

If I had to name 4 others I'd shoot my last targets with Buck would've been one of 'em. Great shooter, honest and truly didn't care any of the clickish stuff that abounds in the ATA. Could compete with any at 16yds but would rather shoot Sunday at Jackson or Munith playin' around. I am so thankful I got to see him at home 3 weeks ago during the Michigan Team Shoot. Never has "One of a Kind" been more descriptive. Say hi to Junior, Buck. I will miss you.
