I watched him shoot in the Grand in 1950 and he got 1200 straight that other good shot, Riggins,(name may not be correct)the one that leaned foward so far, was shooting there to but couldn't match that.

When I was first introduced to Joe in the late sixties or seventies he was addressed as the "Best all around shooter in the world." He shot Ljutic (sp)number 2 when I met him but previously had shot a model 12. The mention of his name to some of the dealers at one of the casinoes was good for free drinks and other benefits. He was very friendly and left this world to soon. Post-2

Many years ago Zip Eaton from Helena, Montana, had a/the Model 12 that once belonged to Joe Devers. I was at a shoot in Great Falls and found myself without a gun. Zip loaned me that Model 12 to shoot the singles event. I ran a 99 which was my high score at the time. I was happy as hell but Jody may have been upset if he had known I missed a target with his gun. He sure didn't drop many.

Devers was a great shooter...another great all-around shot would be Frank Little.

Little is a trap legend, but was a great skeet shooter, live bird shooter, and international shooter.
