I attended Jim Elliott’s sentencing today . He was sentenced to 1 year in County Jail. He was also ordered to pay approximately $52K restitution to the Sacramento Trapshooting Club.
The District Attorney advised me Mr. Elliott will most likely apply for a medical furlough which will enable him to complete his sentence with an electronic monitoring device outside of a correctional facility.

Please PM me if you have any additional questions.

    Thank you

    Warren

Do you have any idea if Jim has the assets to pay the club back? Is the Board of Directors still active? Having an order to pay and collecting are two different things. I would hope the BOD keeps the pressure on the DA to collect the monies owed prior to any "House Arrest".

I would imagine they can attach anything and everything he owns if he don't pay up, but they have to stay on him or they will never be repaid ... Maybe they can give Big Bubba one of those monitoring devices and he can visit The Elliott home once or twice a week to remind him of what he is missing by not being in the joint and do to him what he did to the membership ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

    Zardo,

Then they should take their time in considering the medical furlough and keep him in with the others that are of the same like until they can come to a meeting of the minds which could take the entire year in most places ... He must be a real piece of work and deserves to do the time in Bubba's Place ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

People like him always get off somehow and then they file bankruptcy and go about life ( with your money still in their pocket) But the liberals keep on making more and more laws to protect people that should not be. It is our new socialist govt & it is getting worse every day

He had some "NICE" trapguns!!! I'll bet if they were sold it could account for some of the embezzled cash!

The club should get a judgment against him regardless of time he gets! He may win a lottery down the road too when he gets out!!

I spoke on behalf of the Sacramento Trap Shooting Club for the Victims Impact Statement. Along with other things I spoke to the court concerning Mr Elliott's character, I read what Elliott posted on this forum back in 2008. Needsless to say he was not very happy with me.

"I am sorry Kim lost her gun. That must be really be a great loss to her. For all you that feel she is in any way responsible. I would also believe you feel sorry for the thiefs. My opinion we should not encarnalize criminals that do such deeds. We should let them go, free to steal again, that is after we break both their arms and then let them fend for themselves. I can think of nothing more appropriate. - Jim "
