Japanese Match Lock

    Looking for any information on Japanese Match Lock (Long gun)
    I have one but cannot find any info. Any help would be appreciated.

    These folks seem to be specialists in Tanegashima.

    But will you use 1 oz. 8s from 16 yards or 1 1/8 7 1/2s? :)

    Collected Japanese swords for the past 35 years. Have bought and sold 10 matchlocks during that time. Still have one that I kept. Still some interest in the marketplace but not as strong as before 1990. The rules in Japan for ownership of matchlocks changed and that portion of the market went away. They had been the big purchasers for some pretty good money. With that said, send me pictures and dimentional information and I will take a stab at current value. If you can remove the stock there is the possibility the smith's signature will be on the underside of the barrel.
