I want to go somewhere for 10 days or so to escape New Hampshire's cold this January. I'm considering the Silver Dollar in Tampa, but I thought I'd ask for some advice. I'd appreciate any thoughts on where I can go provided I can:

    1) Drive there in <30 hours from NH.
    2) Shoot trap just about every day while I'm there.
    3) Shoot registered targets (if possible)

Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh... if you could recommend a decent place to stay too that would be great.
    Thanks! Mark

Hall of Fame Shoot and Dixie Grand run from January 19, to the 27, 2013. Can only promise no snow as far as the weather. May need shorts or may need long underwear. Comfort Suites on Waters Ave is a good place to stay.

I'm available for short term adoption...and can drive. Vermont is colder.

There is a new Resident's Inn by Marriott on the toll road that is just a 5 minute drive from the Dollar. I'd stay there. I would stay away from the motels on Hwy 19, the traffic is awful every morning/evening to get in/out of the Dollar.

There are two Resident's Inns near the Silver Dollar.
One is at 4012 Tampa Rd, Oldsmar FL 34677 ph. 813-818-9400. This is probably a 5-10 drive to the Dollar, on roads that don't carry the high volumn of traffic that comes down from Hwy 19 via Tarpon Springs Rd.
The second one is at exit 19 on the Suncoast Hwy and just about the same distance to the Dollar, just in the opposite direction. 2101 Northpointe Parkway, Lutz, FL 33558 ph. 813-792-8400

Silver Dollar, no doubt about it, shoot all day every day and there will be the Dixie Grand at the end of the month, I will be there for the Grand. Woody

Call real estate agents in Brooksville Fl area and ask about short-term rentals...40 miles north of the Dollar and 40 miles south of Robinson Ranch. Hernando County Sportsman Club is 9 miles out, but a bit pricey for non-members.

Lots of vacant housing in the 55+ communities looking for renters.
