Anyone out there ever try this drink? Saw it in the store today and wondered if it was worth the $40. Please let us know I need a good drink for my Mother in law.

Not a fan of JD, there's better for the money.

My regular bottles of JD cost 38 bucks or so. Go for it.

S391 must be a whiskey snob--they need love too.

    Shannon391,

Hey this is not a thread about what our favorite drinks are. I only asked if anyone has tried this.

I flat out loved the Jack Single Barrel. this seems to be close to it but am not sure. My family drinks the Gentleman Jack regularly so this may be gooood stuff.

What do you mean by 'I need a good drink for my mother in law'?

If you mean you need to pour some sour mash down your throat to make it through the visit then yes this 100 proof JD will do just fine.

I can think of better whiskeys to give as gifts though.

It is for me and her for our family vacation next week. I always like to bring something new. And with both of us in the same beach house I know it will not go to waste.

    Kgp,

I tried it, did not like it. That's all....

Try some Eligah Craig 12 or 18 year old, I like it better, for less money.

Not a bourbon person, but the Gentleman Jack is pretty decent stuff.

    RWT,

I took the Red Stag 2 years ago and all of the old ladies around the beach house loved it. I admit it was nice for being a Beam. I have yet to see "Devils Cut" I will look into it. We are going to have fun with this bottle thats for certian.
