I am no Ithaca expert, but is the mermaid on the trigger guard supposed to be gold? I thought Bill Hunter had donated one of these once, remember it was on a trap and field cover, and thought the mermaid was gold?? l.g.

It's gonna have to have wood from Dennis Devault and some gold on it before I'd pay $18K for any trap gun.....my Scottishness is coming out again....

Let me get this straight. The gun is 1 of 3 and your going to put aftermarket wood and gold inlays on it? Why don't you just put it in a three dollar case and put in in the trunk of your car for about six months? Bill

Not what I said, Bill...just that if I were paying that kind of money for a gun I want some fancy on it....and I have no interest in buying the gun in this thread or any other "antique" for whatever amount...but I could...

Not a very well endowed mermaid.......wonder if the other 2 are like that?

Gorgeous checkering. How many man hours must be invested in that one?

Probably cost about 50G or more to duplicate today.

Halfmile, well endowed mermaids don't survive long because the added drag slows them down too much...can't catch whatever it is they eat! The gun is beautiful though. Mike
