BUT...THEY do have a LIFETIME WARRANTY!! Yep, a lifetime on that puppy. Just clip out the add from any 70's vintage outdoors magazine and send it in with the broken parts/gun and they will replace it for FREE, just like they promised!

A friend of mine had one his son shot. One year in the mid 70s I took it to the Grand to get it repaired for him.

The guy at Ithaca grabbed it, tore it down, replaced a rail or guide assy that looked like pot metal, handed it back to me in about 5 minutes. No charge....

He threw the old one in a box about 2ft. square that was nearly full of broken ones.

Did they change the design I asked?

    Nah, he replied, same thing.

    Lifetime warranty.

    Regards...Gerald

just have to track down that company leadership from several owners of the name back- once you find them- take that clipping up to their door and knock

have your gun in your other hand

and see what type of welcome you get

    Tell them Tron sent you

Model 51s were goood pointers and fairly simple in design. The problem is they broke action bars like gang busters! I owned one and shot it fairly well, but was stationed in Europe at the time and got tired of shipping it back to have thye action bar replaced. Before I left Germany, I ran into a guy who wanted it and sold it to him. If Ithaca had redesigned the action bars it would have been a good gun IMO. My guess is if you could get 300 bucks for it would be getting a good sale.
