Does anyone have a serial number table for the Ithaca SBT guns. Wanted to know when a gun in the 402XXX range was made. Also, what does the "T" at the end of the serial number mean? Thanks for the help, Gerry Addison, esetter5@roadrunner.com

I believe the latest locking system was installed at 403xxx. I have shot several of the latest 4-Es. The are like a bank vault but they kill on both ends.

According to my Ithaca book, 402xxx could have been made from 1929 to 1942. Would need more of the serial no. to pinpoint the year.

    402233T - 1930

    402049 - 1923

This is from the book "The Ithaca Gun Company, from the beginning". Authored by Walter Claude Snyder, second edition, page 351.

I keep getting different reports. Some people say the "T" designation was only on the early Knick guns, but the one without the T seems to be earlier. One nice gentleman told me both guns were from 1930. Is there anywhere to get a definitive answer about these trap guns?

All the serial numbers of the doubles and SBT were co mingled, that means that as a gun was finished it was given the next number in line. I have a Flues SBT with # 258579T, that is 1914.

Prior to my daughter liberating it I owned 4000XX T suggesting that the very early guns had the letter T in the serial number. Another daughter liberated 400XXX which did not have the letter T in the serial number.
