The ATA owns the property in Vandalia, Ohio where their offices are located. They do not own any ground in Sparta, IL. I see nothing wrong with leaving the ATA home offices in Ohio. Tom

Trapshooter1, are you going to pay for the move? You want it, you pay for it....

The way I hear about Illinois and the politicos in Chicago who want to take away guns, my vorte is to return the Grand to Ohio. The planned airport expansion did not happen, so the space is available and could be rebuilt.

All of the hype about terrioist shooting at planes as they take-off or land is a bit much.

Move the Grand back to a place where it is truely welcome.

If the ATA owns the land in Ohio, then let it remain there. John

I think they would do better in Sparta. If they are going to handle the camping the might be better off there. A little new blood might just cure some of the problems people are having with the camping. They could sell the property to the huge airport expansion they have planned for in Vandalia. At the value of land next to a huge airport they could probably clear enough to buy a corn field, build a building, pay for the move and rent the remainder of the field and make a profit off it.

I don't believe we own anything in Vandalia now. I believe we lease the building where the office is. The lead reclaimination is done and we are awaiting the return of the half million is security deposit we put up against cleaning up the property. The lead clean up netted us about another half million.

As far as the rumors of the ATA being broke, we now have assets valued at over ten million. The first time in our history we have exceeded ten million.

Jimmy--Thanks for that info. What happened to all the reclaimed lead? What is your opinion on the OP's subject?

i understand that the ATA leases the Shooting Complex for its shoots only and all facilities belong to the State of Ill. Don't think the State of Ill is going to buy a Building for the HOF or pay for the move. I don't know where the Grand or the HOF will end up in the future. if the State of Ill decides to close the Shooting complex then what. The ATA neeeds to own the land the HOF is moved to and move it where it is accessable in the future no matter where the Grand is. Allen

jbbor, Just where did you get your information? 10 million sounds like BS to me.

The Fishburns offered land and a building to have it at the Cardinal Center at no cost to the ATA, but they said no thanks.

Was Fishburn going to deed the land to the ATA or just "loan" it to them?

Wow Doug, that might be the best place for the HOF if ATA could own the Land and Building. Allen

They were offered more than just land and a building at Cardinal.
