This might be old news, but I just got this in an mail:

    REFUSE NEW COINS

This simple action will make a strong statement.

Please help do this.. Refuse to accept these when they are handed to you.

I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead.

The lady just smiled and said 'way to go' , so she had read this e -mail.

Please help out..our world is in enough trouble without this too!!!!!

U.S.Government to Release New Dollar Coins

    You guessed it
'IN GOD WE TRUST' IS GONE!!!
If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!!

DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE

Together we can force them out of circulation..

Please send to all on your mailing list!!!

What am I missing here? Paper dollar lasts 90 days and costs 1.14 to make. coin last for years and costs 14 cents to make. Is it just the change that you are against? Trevor Dawe.

I believe in GOD, not allah. I will not have one of these in my possession if the words are actually gone. You can have all you want!

I think he means the words are engraved around the edge instead of on the face.
In this case the picture is not worth a thousand words.

If I understand correctly, it says "In God We Trust" on the edge, not on the front or back face.

There were some made without it on the edge, however, that was a manufacturing error.

It is a tradition that I believe in! The new coin is distributed by a professed allah lovin' Muslim controlled government ...enough reason for me to do whatever the hell I want! Again, you like them...you can have all you want.

Mark, I am more worried that it's valve is going down the drain. Not if it is paper or plastic. Trevor Dawe.

In the last few minutes, I have conflicting info on the subject.

I have also found there are others that have the words on the coin, but it seems there are many in circulation absent of the quote.

It is simple. If someone offers me one, I will look at it and if the quote is missing I will not except it.

No, I will have to pass this year on the Southern Grand. I enjoyed shooting there in the past and will wish I was there the whole time it is going. Maybe next year.

Yes I see the picture above, and after a bit of research, I see there are actually both kinds out there. I have never seen one, so I guess I will take a close look at it before I accept it.

Someone else all wound up about something he got in a BS email, and did ZERO independent research. ZERO. What else is new?

Oh, and it's posted here without stripping out the ubiquitous "Send this to everyone in your email list" comment at the end. It just *has* to be important.

Apparently the original design was to not have the words In God We Trust on them, and rather than redesign the coin faces it was decided to roll engrave the edges. At least that was the story making the rounds late last year.

Quite frankly you don't have a choice of use or not. It is the currency of the country. If given you must accept.

Don, you wouldn't necessarily have to accept it, but you may not get anything else in it's place.
