Why did the Buffet Rule not get past the Senate yesterday? The Senate is held by the dems. Perhaps some of them recognize the absolute lunacy of behind it and the mood of the American people?

Look at these stories about their hero Buffet!

"Berkshire Hathaway, the eighth-largest public company in the world according to Forbes, openly admits to still owing taxes for years 2002 through 2004 and 2005 through 2009, according to the New York Post. The company says it expects to "resolve all adjustments proposed by the US Internal Revenue Service" within the next year."

On Monday, The Blaze reported that Warren Buffett’s company, Berkshire Hathaway, owes back taxes dating to 2002. The news is significant because in a recent op-ed column for the New York Times, Buffett, one of President Obama’s staunchest supporters, stated that, to now, the “super wealthy” have been coddled and deserve to be taxed at an even higher rate than they currently are.

When Buffett made his revelation earlier in the month, most assumed his company was up-t0-date on its taxes. That assumption has turned out to be incorrect, however — and to a substantial degree perhaps.

According to Berkshire’s 2010 annual report, the company has been in a near decade-long struggle with the IRS over its own taxes. Using public documents, a certified public accountant detailed Berkshire’s tax problems to Americans for Limited Government researcher Richard McCarty, revealing the damage could be close to $1 billion.

While the Democrats hold a majority of seats in the Senate, the Democrats do not hold a "super majority" -- 60 or more seats. Without a "super majority" they cannot bring items to the floor or stop debate on a item without the consent of at least 9 Republicans. What happened with the Buffet Rule legislation is that the Senate leadership -- Harry Reid et al. -- didn't get enough votes -- 60 -- to allow them to bring the measure to the floor. In essence the Republicans blocked the Buffet Rule from consideration.

I can tell you thisl about Warren Buttit. He owns a larger company in Northern Indiana. They make Grain bins for the farm industry and also feeders for different kinds of livestock. Both Companies are across the road from each other. Most of the products go to China.
His working conditions for the employees are horrible. It is very heavy work, and the demand is 12hrs a day 5 days a week and 8 or 10 hours on Sat. and Sun.
Most employees are temporarys that work for appro. 8 to 14 dollars hr. Full time employees are a little better with insurance. Easter was the first day off they had since Christmas. You miss on day your gone. I know of at least 3 people that are full time and they are put on the heaviest and hardest jobs inl the plant. 2 of them were in their 70's and on is in his low 60's. The two that were in their 70's are no longer their. They are DEAD. The one that is in the low 60's was put in bed by the Dr. on Tues. and told not to get out of bed till the following Monday. I talked to this fellow on Sunday and he did not sound any better than when he was put to bed. As far as I knowl he went to work Monday or he is dead. I do not workl for this Company but this is the trend that is setting the standard all around the nation with just a few short years if that SOB in the White house is relected. Now days temporary means for ever. These industries has bent the state and federal labor laws that are sickening with what the get wawy with. Wild Bill

yep, 47 Republicans, 2 Independents (who caucus with the Dems) and 51 Democrats. Vote was 51 to 46.

The fact that Harry Reid is in charge means they will never have any leadership.

It proves Buffet is just a phoney as all other Liberals.

As this "about doing the right thing" and Buffet's corporation is almost 10 years in arrears of paying it's taxes. It is in dispute with the IRS about how much it owes.

Why go through all this brain damage about passing the Buffet Rule, when Buffet does not pay his taxes? Yeah I know we are talking about his corporation, but as head of it, he is responsible.

This Buffet Rule is just another political stage show put on by the Loser in Chief.
