The secret code is finally broken and here it is:

Monday bread has a blue twist tie
Tuesday bread has a green tie
No bread is delivered on wednesday
Thursday bread has a red twist tie
Friday bread has a white twist tie
Saturday bread has a yellow twist tie

So whatever day you go shop choose the corresponding color , none is left in store longer than 1 week as well

jbrooks might even like this one

Funny, the bread at my store has a white plastic thing (not a twist tie) no matter what day. The label has a "best if used by" date on it that is either 1,2, or 3 days beyond today.

They must be saving the twist ties for the hamburger.

Our bread colors are white, blue and yellow, and that's by brand.

tip of the day - I wrap the bread in tin foil ( leave it in the original wrapper) and it lasts twice as long

Don't buy "bread" in plastic bags with twist ties; then you'll actually be able to tell how fresh it is!

I just go by the color of the bread itself. I only buy it when it is a nice fuzzy shade of gray/green. I don't have to take my pennicillen (sp?) when I have my toast in the morning LOL!

Walmart makes the best French bread and they put it out at 10:00 every day for $1.00 a loaf. I dont buy pre packaged bread anymore. I live .5 miles from Walmart though. Leave it in the paper bag and wrap in foil

Send me a PM and we can talk. Dont care what some of the others think when they eat it there minds will change. I have given away over 1100 loaves in my town just to say THANKS to many for whatever they do. I have made over 51 loaves in 6 hours out of my kitchen oven. Just might be the best buns they ever had there hands on. Sorry little devil in me made me say that. To all ahve a great day. Mark

My wife bakes all our bread and rolls, and I know they are fresh. All the extra is put in the freezer and thawed as needed. The bread you buy at the store is crap. BRGII
