I thought you might find this interesting, -- maybe even SICKENING!

The National Association of Realtors is all over this and working to get it repealed -- before it takes effect. But, I am very pleased we aren't the only ones who know about this ploy to steal billions from unsuspecting homeowners.
How many realtors do you think will vote Democratic in 2012?

D id you know that if you sell your house after 2012 you will pay a 3.8%sales tax on it? That's $3,800 on a $ 100,000 home, etc. When did this happen? It's in the health care bill -- and it goes into effect in 2013.

Why 2013? Could it be so that it doesn't come to light until after the 2012 elections? So, this is 'change you can believe in'?

Under the new health care bill all real estate transactions will be subject to a 3.8% sales tax. If you sell a $400,000 home, there will be a $15,200 tax. This bill is set to screw the retiring generation -- who often downsize their homes. Does this make your November, 2012 vote more important? Oh, you weren't aware that this was in the ObamaCare bill? Guess what; you aren't alone! There are more than a few members of Congress that weren't aware of it either.

You can check this out for yourself at:

I hope you forward this to every single person in your address book. VOTERS NEED TO KNOW.

Your vote counts big time in 2012, make sure you and all your friends and family clean the White House. It is critical.

I think it is on the sales of homes over $250,000, but I might be wrong, but it still is a tax

If everybody gave the A hole everything they owned it would still not be enough

The two posts above are incorrect except that the 3.8% that will be collected under certain circumstances is a new tax.

The attached link contains some useful, but still confusing, information.

Steve, I did say I might be wrong, but thanks for pointing it out, I had read somewhere that the number was $250,000, but didn't remember all the details, so it looks like anything you make over $250,000 is taxed it that what they are saying?

Our place was appraised at $750,000 so we would have to pay on $500,000?

Sucks but I don't care when this place sells I will be pushing up worm dirt

    Catpower;

No, that's not what they are saying. It's very confusing. Whether or not you pay the 3.8% (and it's not just applicable to certain home sales) depends on what your AGI is! It looks to me that you still get the exemption ($250K for a single person or $500K for a married couple whatever that means these days).

Just to be safe, talk to a tax specialist before you sell anything!

This should shut you all up with your BS. Read when the health care bill really got passed and try and understand whats in it.

Then when you finish, I doubt it, look up The Farm bill of 2011 part of which will prove even to you that Dems and Repubs are the same thing and work together wonderfully such as the 1 trillion dollar increase in 2011 for the additional increase in Food Stamps they knew was coming and the destruction of farmers. Let me tell you how it will be
There's one for you nineteen for me
    'Cause I'm the taxman
    Yeah I'm the taxman

Should five percent appear too small
Be thankful I don't take it all
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

If you drive a car I'll tax the street
If you try to sit I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk I'll tax your feet
    Taxman

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

Don't ask me what I want it for
    Ah-ah, Mister Wilson
If you don't want to pay some more
    Ah-ah, Mister Heath

'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman

Now my advice for those who die, Taxman!
Declare the pennies on your eyes, Taxman!
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah I'm the taxman
And you're working for no one but me
    Taxman

OK -- here's how it works once you get past all the rhetoric and bs that people want you to believe.

Say you bought a house for $200,000 many years ago and now you sell it for a cool half million, $500,000. You have a capital gain of $300,000. This law says that there is a $250,000 exclusion, so now your taxable amount is $50,000.

But, only people in a high Adjusted Gross Income level have to pay it, with the AGI being $200,000 for a single person, or $250,000 for the household.

So, in the above, try to limit your AGI to $199,999 in the year you sell your home, and you don't have to pay the tax.

Then, avoid all the inflamatory wrong explanations out there & go shoot perfect 25s.
