Buritto is active these days as a race promoter. He does the races at the Vegas vintage auction at the Southpoint in January.
Not sure it he does anything with trap however.

Yes. He lost in a shootout with Dave "Bones" Aldana.

No, not the same Gene Romero from dirt track racing, although interestingly they are both from the San Luis Obispo, Ca. area.. Gene Romero the trapshooter is a retired Postal worker and a 27 yd. shooter. I just shot with him at Kingsburg Ca. State shoot a few days ago.
Gene Romero the motorcycle racer is also a friend and as already stated a dirt track race promoter these days. Both Genes are good guys.

Greenville, Ohio is one of the nicest cushion tracks ever. With the right riders you will be treated to a dazzling show of feet up sideways speed.

(also the first place I ever saw a French fried dill pickle.)

    David,
Yes, I am Steve Storz, owner of Storz Performance. I've been a trapshooter for many years although I pretty much quit shooting for the past 10 years or so to be involved with my two sons and their motorcycle Trials competitions. I've known both Gene Romeros for many years. I met Burritto in the early 70's.

I just watched Dave Aldana race about a month ago. He lives in Atlanta now and is still fast for a 63 yr old. Also saw Garth Brow at same race. He still hauls too

Mr. Storz, pleased to make your acquaintance. My pet Buell, a 1999 S3, is all dolled up and bears one of your steering dampeners.
A bit off topic, but a group of friends and I ride each week on Wed. nights, and we invite any other riders to join us. Several times we have commented on how likely that a motorcyclist will also share a strong passion for guns, and frequently general aviation as well. Must be something genetic.

One of Gene’s Triumphs was owned by a now out of business Triumph and Yamaha dealer in Washington County PA. When the dealer went out of business in the late 70s early 80s he was selling it for $5000. It that time there were no takers. It may still be for sale.
