I got this email this morning and am now wondering if all political threads are going to be outlawed. If not, the Moderator, who obviously is afraid to sign the email, is going to have to ban me because if others are allowed to post political threads I certainly plan to. I know a couple of Moderators are heavy Dems and doubtlessly support Obama. This is why the obvious anti-gun trolls are allowed to remain.

So what is it no political threads or just no JBrooks political threads?

    "Dear JBrooks,

This is a trapshooting site, not a political site. Please keep your threads within the realm of shooting topics.

    Thank you,
    Trapshooters.com"

I think there is a place for the political views on this site. A little debate (sometimes heated) has a positive effect on all parties.

    and that is why.....

    I use 7-1/2's from the 27.

Vote with your 2nd Amemdment Rights in mind!!

I think personally if this became a shooting only site I would not frequent it very often. This is like a club house where when you come in and sit down usually the topic is politics, or soon gets there, especially during a voting year. If politics become banned than all OT subjects should be banned. It would than be like all the other forums.

JB, you are kind of going over board on the political threads. Not that I don't agree with 99% of your posts, but you're posting a lot. Maybe they are trying to curtail the arguing. I don't know. But chill out because I don't want anything to happen to ya!!

JB, I agree with Juno. I believe you have carried it to excess with 3 or 4 posts per day. I am voting for McCain/Palin, while I load #8 shot for handicaps. BRGII

You're right Juno. I promise not to post another political thread until it occurs to me to post another political thread. LOL

    Here is the irony,

JB is in tizzy because the moderators want him to tone down the political stuff. At the same time he thinks that everyone that doesn't think his political babelings are the cats meow must be antigun trolls and/or Obamabots and they need to be banned from the site. This is actually in his opening statement on this thread.

What do you really want here JB?

Also I think you are way way way out of line in slandering the moderators of this site and for that alone you should be banned.

God, how I love that word. "Obamabot" Thats hillarious. Who came up with that? Well, wolfy, JB isn't going anywhere. He's just passionate about his views. He'll simmer down after McCain takes office. Hey, everyone have an outstanding weekend!

Yea sure the moderators of this shooting site are flaming liberals that hate guns and love Obama. Its just part of the vast left wing conspiracy that has nothing better to do than follow Brooks around and spoil all his fun. You know its 'they and them'. Now I get it, paranoid and delusional, AKA the 'truth'.

    Well wolfie,

What I want is gunfitter to develop a flinch and have to get a release trigger. :)

Seriously, I have no problem with trapshooters who also post opposite political views from mine. I do object to the obvious trolls and mobies that are here only to stir the pot.

I do agree that calling someone an Obama supporter should be considered an insult worse than questioning their parentage or sexuality, but if it is the truth, it is neither slander or libel.

As an interesting note, legally, slander is spoken and libel is written. However, an English judge has just made a rulng that comments on an internet board may be taken as slander because of the conversational nature of the exchanges rather than the traditional concept of premeditated written libel.

While may Obama comment doesn't rise to either, I am certainly thumbing my nose at the Dem Moderator who has tried to stifle my use of the Board compared to others.

If TS.com wants to outlaw political thread, fine, I can support that. To single me out. Nope.

JB, I've been sick of you and your ramblings for a long time. The moderators should have done something about you and your pals a long time ago.

To present my own personal thought... the name of the site is "trapshooters.com", not "trapshooting.com". That implies free (though tactful and respectful) discussion on topics that are important to us as trapshooters is appropriate, though the topic may not be directly about the sport of trapshooting. The political goings-on in this election year will have a significant impact on our rights and privileges as gun-owners, which could impact our sport. Therefore, the threads are relevant.

However, just like my daddy keeps telling me about chocolate and ice cream, there is a point where it gets to be too much... though I'm not sure I believe him about the chocolate and ice cream. :)

Bottom line, use moderation, and you probably won't be moderated.

Shotgun World has a *yawn* trap section.

I have no problem with political posts.

I wish Hugo and his wife would come back with their marital strife, that was a hoot.

Medical advice, religious discussions, all welcome as far as I care.

Just one big happy family. And if I think someone is stupid I will let them know. Nicely most of the time.

There's a big X up in the corner of my screen I can hit any time I want.

By the way, do you know for sure it was official? I got an email from David once and it was signed.

You may have just been spammed.

The Moderators have been very laid back and taken a lot of flack for as long as they have been around, the problem is sometimes some people don't know when to shut up and listen ... If a Moderator gives you a warning the best thing to do is respect that and learn from it ... There are plenty of Political threads on this site as it is and there will no doubt be more in the future ... Keep in mind the Moderators have every right to delete them or eliminate any thread they care to whenever they get the notion to do so and do not need a reason to do so based on the fact that we are all guests here ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Ya, JB. Trappy probably spammed you. Some of you people are too uptight. Idea:Wolfy and Bill Go to the club and shoot a round. But before you do, take every fifth bird and write JBROOKS on it in perm. marker. Then go shoot. In the correct order of course. Every one you break, well you're hittin JB. On the other hand, every one you miss, he's thumbing his nose at you. Get even with him! Run 25!!

At this point, one who still supports the Democratic "leadership" and the sleazy tactics used in an attempt to get them in the White House has little sense of the future.

The office of President is not a place to perform on-the-job training for a liberal media darling with not one whit of executive or leadership experience. The Republican Vice Presidential candidate has much more experience in such matters than both Democratic hopefuls combined.

If Obama gets his way, a trapshooter will not be able to protect himself, his castle, or property, will have to endure a firearms and health care policy similar to Canada,(which are utter liberal failures), and may have to surrender his autoloading trap gun, or have it altered to fire no more than two shots. Check out British firearms laws concerning arms and ammunition.

If this nation is again attacked, talk is the only defense that will be brought to bear to defend our shores. When an inexperienced man with no experience or backbone is pushed into defensive measures, it will likely be a panicked, ineffective strike against the wrong target. Does anyone remember Clinton having an aspirin factory bombed?

A long time ago, an arrogant liberal named Chamberlain tried to talk a madman named Hitler out of waging war. It did not work then, and will not work now.

Oh I forgot to mention, with the increased taxes and reduced incentive to be a moneymaker or employer, combined with increased energy costs, the average trapshooter will probably be unable to afford to shoot or own a firearm.

Sometimes when a job is held too long it gets to be difficult to do the job without becoming burnt out. Possibly some of the moderators get burnt out and get kind of moody at times. Therefore the deletions without signing their names like all the posters should do.

A possible solution would be for David to rotate moderators every 6 months or yearly, or whatever length of time he desires.

I would think there are a lot of posters here that would be happy to be a MOD for a fixed period of time.

Some of the MODS do seem to get testy though.

    Murray.
