I have an older Remington 870 23/4" chambered shot gun and choked full . Is it safe to shot 23/4" steel shot shells through it? If not is it because of the full choked barrel? Any info would be useful.

I shot BIG steel (BBB and even some T) through my full fixed choked Remington 1100 for quite a while with no apparent damage. I still use it for trapshooting.

I suspect you can but I'd check with Remington to be sure. Post-2

I called Remington with this same question a few years ago and was told as long as I did'nt shoot any steel larger than #2's it would be fine but they did'nt recommend bb's or t sizes.
