Just wondering if 1100 fps is to slow for trap. I know the norm is generally 1150 to 1200. Thoughts?

1100 fps will break (Crush them if you center the hit) any target!

Years ago I made up some black powder loads for the 3 gun cowboy shoots ... about 1000 fps ... and they worked just fine!

I have been shooting Federal Extra Lites for Sinlges and First shot on doubles. They are listed @ 1100 fps. They really hit them hard.

My load for 1 1/8 oz is 1100 FPS for singles and doubles.

    It is all I need.

For games at the 40 yard line in a 30MPH crosswind, yes. For 16,doubles & short to mid handicap,no. 27 yard, maybe depending on the shooter. You will find most the AAA guys use The 1250 stuff from 27. One HUGE advantage of 1000 FPS. RECOIL mitigation.

It's still a lot faster than the bird is going.

I have seen a very good shooter shooting @ this speed. He told me he uses MUller chokes & shoots a tight choke. I would have never thought , but the slower the speed the tighter the choke.

I have shot a 1090 load for years and have broke quite a few hundreds using that recipe.
