Are “Invector” and “Invector Plus” trademark names owned by Browning, for choke tubes? Or were these established through a collaborative effort by several gun makers, to create a standard, to be used by all of them?
I associate them with Browning, but see Winchester marketing their own Invector and Invector Plus chokes, with no reference to Browning. Also, several aftermarket choke tube companies sell Invectors and Invector Plus chokes and indicate they fit guns by several manufacturers.
    Thank for any input. Mike

The standard Invectors interchanged with more shotguns. Invector Plus is limited to Browning and Winchester, which are both owned by FN Herstal. Wayne

Anyone can make choke tubes to fit Invector or Invector Plus systems. They can't claim that they are Invector or Invector Plus chokes, but they can state the tubes are made to fit those systems. Invector and Winchoke are the same system.
