    What is a "interupters?"

    This is what I came up with;

    : one that interrupts; especially : a device for interrupting an electric current usually automatically

    Kidd,

    You are correct.

    In the earlier hand set traps a gear ring was placed inside the machine to cause interruption in the horizontal movement of the machine. This would make it harder to read the movement of the machine.

    In the new machines such as the pat traps it is done closer to an electronic interruption stopping and starting the machine in its horizontal movement.

    We have three different auto traps at our club and all three have interrupters on them which work in this fashion.
