Sure beats the hell out of the notion that the majority of the trapshooters are in PA and OH, doesn't it?

It certainly does! I'm sure someone will come along & explain how all the figures & numbers mean nothing!

Looking at the regions by age would probably be even more enlightening when looking at the future of shooting sports.

Wonder what the lines of demarcation are for "northeast," "midwest" etc?

What you need Timb99 is what states make up the regions. They/NSSF should be able to provide that.

What is especially interesting is if you combine the shotgun games, and look at the numbers, then.

Yes, from the looks of the chart, I would think that the majority of shooting is done hunting, and with a rifle. Clay sports are much less. We need to tap into that hunter market a little more.

Wow. We have 34 million people that shoot recreationally in this country.

That number alone tells me there are alot of opportunities for shooting clubs and the future of sport shooting doesn't have to be bleak.

What does "shoot with modern sporting rifle" exactly mean? Hunting?

Would like to see the same catagories from 10 and 20 years ago for side to side comparisons.
