A guy who sold his 20 gauge shotgun over here in South Africa gave the shells to a friend who gave them to me, since he knew I had a 20 gauge that I had brought over for hunting.

The first are "Orbea Primera" paper cartridges that say "polvora sin humo" which, according to Google Translate, means smokeless powder in Spanish. Never heard of the brand.

These are Eley cartridges, made in the UK. Some of the shells say "Alphamax."

Yeah, that's what Google Translate says. But I wonder if it really means non-corrosive in this context?

Interesting that these 20 gauge shells are red. I guess not everyone follows the "20 gauge are always yellow" convention.

I dont think the yellow standard for 20ga came before the late 60's. I have red 20ga AA's. Jeff

Anxious to see how these shoot. Upland bird hunting season starts pretty soon over here. Guinea Fowl and Francolin.

I have shot tens of thousands of RD Caza Orbea shells in Argentina.

    I linked to their website.
