Our local clubs are having trouble getting their youth shooters to participate beyond scholastic leagues. What is it that makes them come back, even when the free ride is over? Any suggested strategies that have worked for you?

Trap shooting is not an inexpensive sport. We have a junior rate for targets, $2.50, instead of $4. Most of our junior shooters are children of our adult shooters. It is still mostly a subsidized sport for most junior shooters, subsidized by parents and in our case 4H. At least they are exposed to it and will come back to it when the family is grown and they are looking for something to do in their later years and retirement. Mark
