Four People Charged in Probe of Guns Used in Mall Shooting
    May 17th, 2007 @ 12:01pm
    Sandra Yi Reporting

Four people have been indicted in connection with the Trolley Square Shooting. They were indicted on federal weapons charges and for making false statements. A grand jury returned these sealed indictments, yesterday.

The first indictment names three people, Mackenzie Hunter, Brenden Brown and Matthew Hautala. It alleges that Hunter and Brown sold a handgun to a juvenile. The indictment doesn't directly name Sulejman Talovic, but prosecutors say this indictment is related to the Trolley Square Mall shooting. It says Hunter had reasonable cause to know the juvenile intended to commit a crime with it.

Brown and Hautala are accused giving false statements about the transfer of the gun.

A second indictment alleges that Westley Hill sold a firearm to someone under 21. According to the indictment, Hill is a licensed firearms dealer at Sportsman's Fast Cash Pawn. He allegedly sold the 12-gauge firearm on November 13.

On February 12, Sulejman Talovic, shot and killed five people and injured four others at the Trolley Square Mall.

We will be getting more information on these indictments at a press conference at the U.S. Attorney's Office. Salt Lake City Police, ATF and the FBI will be there.

Makes me sick to know a gun dealer sold a gun to an underaged person.

And then some morons go and sell it to a person they know will commit a crime.

    What the hell....
