I am looking at a Remington Model 32. It has no serial number on the bottom of the receiver like all of the rest of the 32's I have ever seen. The inside of the receiver, the forend, the barrels, etc are all marked with a letter. It does have the dog in grass on the bottom of the receiver like the early do. It has a single trigger, not double triggers. Anyone have any experience with a Rem 32 like this?
    Thanks,
    Doug Allison

Much of what you ask will be determined by the numbers you find when you disassemble the gun. What is the "letter" you describe?

If you are looking for a really nice model 32 I have probably one of the nicest ever made serial number 1704 fully engraved receiver with approx 1oz of gold inlays in excellent condition 30" barrels marked mod and full
    single selectable trigger.

Asking $8000.00 Engraving and gold inlays would be comparable to Crown Grade Kreighoff not quite as elaborate but close.

    contact me for more info.

Like eightbore says the ser. # should appear inside the receiver, top cover, monoblock, and possibly other places. Other numbers or letters might refer to the assembler or part difference.

I have # 2425 and there is a host of numbers and letters including a star?? at the bottom of the receiver.

I owned and sold 2. One was 2515 a TC trap and the other was 3??? and marked skeet. This gun has just Remington Model 32 on the bottom of the frame. It has a "J" on the other parts where my previous 32's had serial numbers. It is on gunbroker, I'll link it ASAP.

I am interested in a honest used field gun for the right price.

Congratulations on winning that gun at auction. I put in a lowball bid but apparently you had a better idea.

eightbore, I didn't buy it, yet. It has been relisted and is now at $700. 28" skeet bbls are not common on the 32's and the unique missing serial number make it a neat gun. I would just use it to hunt bunnies so the condition is just right.

It looks like they almost went through the floor of the receiver with the end mill.

Looks like a Simmons rib. The gun is/was probably a prototype with plain barrels.

Sure looks like a gun I bid on in Texas. It's not the same gun?

I was going to bid on the gun, but I do not like Reserve Auctions. They get to be a pissing contest.
