the jury is still out on the wood being factory or not , browning is still researching and the browning guys on shotgun world are split. all agree everything else is original

you guys may be right, i certainly dont know but lowgun, dirtfarmer, scottyb, (some of the browning guys on shotgunworld) say it is an early pre production with monobloc barrels that were changed in 1931 to barrels fitted to the receiver. i really dont know but it is a very early gun and is in great shape. one of the guys had a 1931 that was not monobloc sn12xx. im gonna keep on researching. most did agree the wood is american walnut and one of the guys had seen a pic of the wide forearm in a very early gun. all i know is i have several diamond and pidgeon grade 101's and this gun is nicer than any of them

What is the approx. serial number as this will help? By the engraving pattern, I'm going with pre 1938 for manufacture date. Is it a single selective trigger?

The wood definetly looks aftermarket. It very well could be Bishopas I've seen similar designs and styles in theirs. The rib posts look to be a Simmons design.
