Can those in the know educate me on release triggers for the K-80? I see there are factory release option available, and for the years before that, there were some 'smiths like Allems that would install them and be quite reliable, but there were also some 'homemade' systems installed that may or may not always be quite as reliable as the ones designed by those who truly understood the working of the gun. Also, if the release system installed isn't a good one- can it get expensive putting a factory set up in or converting back to pull?

Krieghoff release triggers are fine and reliable as are some of the others. If you decide to go back to pull triggers, it will cost you, in the neighborhood of several hundred dollars. Some folks just remove the hook(s) but the feel and action of the triggers are not the same.

Allem's Roller Release System can be adjusted by the owner or changed back to pull triggers, with the original feel, by simply changing the roller or removing them. No special tools needed...remove the stock and all you need is a flat bladed screwdriver. If you ever decide to sell or trade the gun you double the number of potential buyers since a simple removal of the roller makes it a quality pull trigger again.
