I've seen a Brazillian made (back in the 60's) .410 SXS that was so loose when new that it opened about every second shot. I seen to remember that the action and bbl's were chromed. Piece of crap....

I'd like to smoke a few "beers" with the cuss who invented the bolt-action shotgun. That's gotta be some good sh, right there...

Yet bolt action shotguns were very popular at one time for hunters and farmers who wanted a no nonsense functional and inexpensive gun. It's easier and cheaper to make a competent bolt action shotgun than a competent break action.

It's gotta be the old "Widow maker" shotgun made by Winchester. 1911 model if I remember right. I only saw one and that was enough for me.

In trap model a Galef single.

Overall production gun, those Boito's were definetly at the top. ANy would be the one sarge speaks of.

buzz-gun, new a local farmer that could cycle one of them faster than majority of pump shooters and a damn site more accurate. As they say, there's always one...

Bolt action 20. Dad thought it was an upgrade to a single shot 410. It was not!

Hey, I have a Winchester 1911. And yes, I am afraid to shoot it.

Back in the 1970's someone (I think it was Spanish made) manufactured a copy of the Ljutic Mono Gun. Can't remember the name of it. When you closed the gun it sounded like an old truck door slamming, and the rib would hum like a ten penny nail hit with a greasy ball peen hammer (thanks Brother Dave Gardner, r. i. p.).

    Kicked like a mule.

    Gary,

"You gonna be here when John gets here"?

"Well sir officer, Mr. Chuck...he was killed outright, but Miss Baby..she was alright 'till me and Junior turned her head around."

"A space ship came down from an eminant and hovered over the earth, down came a magnetic field and out came a bunch of little bitty men, runnin' around lookin' under rocks and leaves and one of 'em says...Hey Brother...What us lookin' for? Another said Little Bitty women".

A learned man climbed the great mountain to search for the "TRUTH". He approached the abode of the Great Soothsayer and knocked upon his door. The soothsayer said "Who's dat outside my door? The learned man said "It's Me!" The soothsayer said "Go away, you ain't ready to learn nothin'. So the learned man went away and studied for 50 years. After 50 years of study, he re-climed the great mountain and approached the door of the Great Soothersayer. Knock, knock, knock. Who's dat outside my door, said the soothsayer. "It's Me". Well come on in myself.

I have not had his records since 1964 but still remember all his jokes word for word.

    Google Brother Dave Gardner...lots there.

to those that say bolt action guns were the worst, i had a single shot bolt action 410 when i was a teenager. you could open a 410 shell take out all the b b,s take an arrow & strip all the feathers put the arrow down the barrel into the shell. when the arrow was in the shell right, it was a very deadly weapon, when done wrong it would simply shatter the arrow. dwain

The worst shotgun ever made in my opinion is the one I can't hit the side of a barn with. Either shooting or throwing. For JBrooks who said the Browning recoiless. I have a friend that just loves his and shoots 100 strights with it too. I'm sure he doesn't think it's the worst shotgun made.
