I have a Winchester Model 101, Field Grade 410 gauge shotgun. It has 28 inch, M/F barrels. Bluing 99.9%. Stock 99%. HOWEVER, the original owner of the gun (who I don't think ever even shot it) took an etching tool and very carefully engraved his driver's license number on the tang under the thumb latch. He did a very neat job and you can't even see the numbers until you open the breech. I know this devalues the gun, especially to a collector. What I want to know is how much, on a percentage basis, would this detract from the value of this gun? Thank you. Rob

    It's a shooter, not a collector...don't worry about it.

If it were NIB, that bit of handiwork would cost a lot. On a used gun, maybe $100.
