    I'm so old that...

I remember when REAL MEN wore something called "aftershave"... such as "Old Spice."

It felt like battery acid on your face (ouch).

Or, if you were really cool, you wore cologne from a giant shotgun shell!...

Axe??? Hell, that was something you used to chop down a tree.

    How old are you?...

Old enough to remember gas at $.21 a gallon, 10 cent coffee, 5 cent phone calls, 5 cent fares on buses, $2 for a carton of smokes & 12 cent movie admissions and all of that was in NYC in the 50's.

    I'm so old.......

I can remember the gas wars, $25 in groceries was 4 shopping carts, dinner at a Shakey's pizza place for a family of 5 was less than $10 w/sodas.

And the big new invention was DIRT!!!!! (I never thought it would catch on!)

When I was in high school, I carried my target rifle on the NYC subways as did Nino Scalia, Supreme Court Justice. As we recounted these stories a few years ago, he asked, "Imagine doing that now?"

When I mustered out of the Army, I drove a '52 Studebaker from Texas to NYC with a Weimaraner that I bought in San Antone. That started my downhill slide into the morrass of bird dogs.

My first job at the age of 11 years working in a filling station. It was 1944, gas was $.199 / gallon.

You got 5 gallons for a .$99 plus an "A" ration stamp.

Most of the customers let me keep the penny change. Some days I would make close to 15 cents.

I can remember way back when I was watching a Jack Benny show once. Jack was in a department store with Rochester, and wanted to apply for a revolving charge account. They asked him for his Social Security number, and he said it was "3". .....Rick

Im so old that!!! Wait, Wait, I'm not that old Yet! I do remember 32.9 cent a gallon gas. I remember riding home on my bike and stopping at a home under const. and picking up the pop bottles and going to the 7-ll and getting a snickers bar for it. They were both a nickel at the time. There was a nice selection on penny candy's and you could get 3 jaw breakers for a penny. Real Levis jeans, penny loffers, Converse all star sneakers, Mitchell 300 spinning reel. Just hanging with your friends because there were only 3 TV channels and no vidio games or anything else to do. Hated days it rained, nothing to do. Break-em all. Jeff
