My solution is that all gun and ammo manufacturers and distributors need to totally boycott all government agencies in Illinois if this is passed. Like what Barrett did for his .50 cal sales to Commiefornia law enforcement agencies.

And how much you wanna bet that reloading is outlawed or the components will require serialization too?

All a bunch of feelgood BS. Like the Michigan Legislator who proposed a seat belt law for motorcycles.

Yes, It really happened. the Feds were withholding money from states that did not enact motorcycle safety laws(read helmet law) and this was really a proposal put forth on the floor.

Never happened but it tells you how they work.

It's not intended to stop crime. It's a backdoor method of gun registration, by basically registering ammo. They may not know how many 12ga shotguns you have, but they'll know you have at least one.

    I better start marking my shot - #s1, #s2, #s3... #s10048, #s100049... done!

Phew, it'll be tiring putting serial numbers on a enough shot to manufacture one box of shells after 2/2010. you should see my itty bitty pen. It only took me 4 weeks and 2 days to load a box on my Hornady.

I better load up on some notebook paper and bic pens to keep track of the serial numbers and dates that shot was fired, on which squad, on which trap of which trap range?! (lol)

    *********************

Maybe... they can serial a shotgun hull, but it is not feasible to mark the shot. Lets see how well the Governator does with his stamped ammo.

Spitter, Now that's funny! I guess that answers the age old question of whether or not to load 7 1/2 or 8. You need the larger shot to fit the serial # on.
