Sue is correct, this one impacts the Grand, and is worse all around than the Senate version stalled earlier.

Thanks, I would suggest everyone concerned read the entire bill.

I love how they just "add it" as an amendment to a bill on a completely different subject with absolutely nothing to do with guns...

And yes I just read the entire 18 pages and my interpretation is many of our favorite sporting guns would be included.

I still wonder why the ATA would set up in such an anti-gun state? They may have been offered a good deal, but there are other things to consider such as the political climate.

As much as I love attending the Grand. If this goes down as I read it, I think I'll have to have my own personal boycott of not supporting the state of Illinois. Not that my measly little budget for the Grand will make any legislators change their minds. At least my conscience will be clear based on my values and beliefs.

I will send emails to all of the legislators listed above letting them know my plans of no longer supporting the state with my recreational monies.

Good luck citizens of IL!!!! Hope this doesn't come to Colorado.

    Gene.

"I still wonder why the ATA would set up in such an anti-gun state?"

The ATA has made so many stupid decisions concerning the membership and the future of our sport that nothing surprises me anymore.

Moving to Illinois was questioned by MANY members back in 2003 & 2004. But the EC ASSURED everyone this was the best thing for all of us.

    So.....look where we are now.

    Bruce,

Wouldn't surprise me if they had the phones off the hook. Scheduling a vote on guns, in a bill that has nothing to do with guns, on a Sunday afternoon? Ya' recon' they're trying to run one up our butts??

In addition to boycotting Dicks...start boycotting Illinois too.

    Daddiooo,

I sure hope the Trapshooting Hall of Fame really considers all of these goings on before they spend thousands of their money in a structure out there. To me there is just too much going on in that State concerning gun laws, and this should be prime consideration for their decisions...

    SGP/Dave,

I'm afraid the HOF has already been sucked into the mess. They should have accepted the Fishburns' offer to put the HOF in Marengo. Just another of the many EC blunders.

I could not agree with you more. Mr. Fishburn presented a great opportunity to the THOF but the Board of Trustees wanted the museum at the Grand so two weeks out of the year it could be viewed.

In my business classes we were taught to be aware of the market place...Fishburn's Camp Grounds / shooting grounds / major highway intersections seemed like the proper market for exposure of that museum.

I guess since this is a private Museum, there isn't much anyone other than the Board of Trustees can say in the matter.

My choice was Indy. Ohio didn't deserve it. Little effort. Lot's of bluster. It's a results oriented world out there. Money talks and Bullshit walks.
