    If you don

IF YOU DON'T LIKE MITT, HERE'S SOMETHING TO CONSIDER

Columnist Andrew McCarthy gives us what probably is the most important question regarding the upcoming presidential election….

“…..if Mitt wins the nomination, as seems very likely, I will enthusiastically support his candidacy. For my friends who have hesitation on that score, I’d just ask you to keep four things in mind:

1.. Justice Scalia just turned 78

2.. Justice Kennedy will turn 78 later this year

3.. Justice Breyer will be 76 in August

4.. Justice Ginsburg turned 81 about a week ago.

We wish them all well, of course, but the brute fact is that whoever we elect as president in November is almost certainly going to choose at least one and maybe more new members of the Supreme Court — in addition to hundreds of other life-tenured federal judges, all of whom will be making momentous decisions about our lives for decades to come.

If you don’t think it matters whether the guy making those calls is Mitt Romney or Barack Obama, I think you’re smokin’ something funky….”

So for anybody who is thinking of not voting because your favorite didn’t get nominated, or writing in a candidate who can't win... Imagine this:

    SUPREME COURT JUSTICE ERIC HOLDER.

    LOL

If this is REALLY important to Republicans, then WHY did they nominate someone who appointed LIBERAL judges to the bench 75% of the time?

    Brilliant thinking.

Maybe Romney will reach across the aisle and nominate her. After all, she's more conservative than he is.

The ridiculous part about bashing Romney at this point is the alternative. Sounds like a few here think Hussein is the better choice. Pretty ironic when you think about the consequences of NOT voting for Romney.

Ridiculous? What's ridiculous is that we have a choice of Obama and Obama Lite.

Irony? The irony is that I stated months ago that those who would not tolerate a gun banning, socialised medicine supporting, tax and spend, job killing liberal 'Republican' would wind up being in a position of power out of proportions of their numbers, and the risk was Romney losing.

This voting block was scoffed at as being immaterial, and are still being marginalised, all while demands are made that they vote for Romney.

The chickens have come home to roost. This voting block may well have the final say on whether the GOP wins in 2012. All I can say is I told you it would come to this. Nominating a liberal gun banner has really ticked a lot of conservatives off. If they wanted to vote for a liberal they would have joined the Democratic Party.

Maybe in 2016 Republicans will finally have a clue that, like with GWH Bush, Dole, McCain and now possibly Romney that there is a voting block in the GOP that will not tolerate business as usual.

Does that mean we want to see Obama win? Absolutely not. But the "lesser of two evils" gambit has run its course. It's played out, and liberal supporting Republicans may well watch a slow motion train wreck they caused when they set the switch to Romney.

Who should you be angry with? Not the tea party. Not the pro-gunners. Blame the liberal element that support and voted for Romney. They own this disaster.

As I mentioned in an earlier thread....My IDEAL candidate ain't in the race. There are going to be other candidates on the ballot...who have zero hance of winning. Perhaps you guys who don't like Mitt will be happy voting for one of them. IF one of those other individuals is YOUR IDEAL candidate...vote for him or her, and feel good. I won't. Realistically...I have a choice between Romney and Obama. THAT'S an easy one. Obama cannot be allowed to remain in the White House. I shudder to think what kind of country we have become if a majority of our fellow Americans want to return this total failure to Washington for another 4 years.

A vote against Romney is a vote for socialism.

Haven't people on the board figured it out yet? Brian in Oregon is a strong Obama supporter. He never misses an opportunity to bash Romney he wants people who are on this board to stay home and not vote for Romney. He is not that stupid to think he could convince anyone to vote for Obama.

There is no honor in this man. If you actually believe Obama is better for the country, you should have the integrity to come out and say it.

Obama only needs about 50 electoral votes that he does not already have locked up. He can be beaten, but only if Republicans and Independents understand that the very existence of the nation we love is at stake. Vote for Romney, get your friends to vote for Romney, contribute to Romney and work for Romney. America needs it.

Brian you need to get into reality pretty quickly. Conservatives and Republicans now have ONE person to vote for. If you don't vote for Obama-lite as you call him you are voting for Obama. NOT that hard to understand. Your continual bashing of Romney has run it's course and most on here agree he is not the most conservative. But your daily beating of a dead horse has gotten old. Like it or not and we all get the picture loud and clear that you do not like him,he is the guy we have to vote for. NOT that hard to grasp if you just use a little common sense. Your daily ranting about his gun banning will NOT change who is running against Hussein. Romney is now the choice we have. You can act like a child for 5 more months and take your ball and cry all the way home but the fact still remains Romney is the Republican nominee. You now have tow choices Hussein the Muslim Socialist or Romney the gun banning moderate. Hell the part of the country you are from you should be use to gun banning moderates.

Good post Curt. Unfortunately I get the impression that most of them here did not get the message or the seriousess of Obama naming 1,2 or more Supreme Court Justices. I hope before election time more of them do get it.

Why don't Y'all give up trying to sway Brian into voting for Romney, it isn't going to happen it appears

Spend your efforts into getting other voters to get out and volunteer and get everybody out to vote for Romney, although he might not be the best for the job, he has been plenty successful at what he's done throughout his life

If we could vote FOR or AGAINST any candidate we could express our true feelings about the candidate but still allow the other guy to win.

"FOR" would be a vote for him.

"AGAINST" would take a "FOR" vote away.

If you're referring to Oregon, yes, the liberals do have a lot of power here.

If that's a swipe at me, then you're sadly mistaken. I am not a liberal. I apparently am a lot more conservative than most of you. Because you are supporting a liberal Republican and I am not. I intend to vote for a conservative.

I think Republicans as a whole did not think this through when they got behind someone who has little in common with the very party he is supposed to represent. They backed someone who has turned a lot of conservatives off.
