    2010 DARWIN AWARDS
You've been waiting for them with baited breath, so without further ado here
    are the 2010 Darwin awards.

    8th Place
In Detroit , a 41-year-old man got stuck and drowned in two feet of water
after squeezing head first through an 18-inch-wide storm sewer grate to
    retrieve his car keys.

    7th Place
A 49-year-old San Francisco stockbroker, who "totally zoned when he ran",
accidentally, jogged off a 100-foot high cliff on his daily run.

    6th Place
While at the beach, Daniel Jones, 21, dug an 8 foot hole for protection from
the wind and had been sitting in a beach chair at the bottom, when it
collapsed, burying him beneath 5 feet of sand. People on the beach used
their hands and shovels trying to get him out but could not reach him. It
took rescue workers using heavy equipment almost an hour to free him. Jones
was pronounced dead at a hospital.

    5th Place
Santiago Alvarado, 24, was killed as he fell through the ceiling of a
bicycle shop he was robbing. Death was caused when the long torch he had
placed in his mouth to keep his hands free, rammed into the base of his
skull when he hit the floor.

    4th Place
Sylvester Briddell, Jr., 26, was killed as he won a bet with friends who
said he would not put a revolver loaded with four bullets into his mouth and
    pull the trigger.

    3rd Place
After walking around a marked police patrol car parked at the front door, a
man walked into H&J Leather & Firearms intent on robbing the store. The shop
was full of customers and a uniformed officer was standing at the counter..
Upon seeing the officer, the would-be robber announced a hold-up and fired a
few wild shots from a target pistol. The officer and a clerk promptly
returned fire and several customers also drew their guns and fired. The
robber was pronounced dead at the scene by Paramedics. Crime scene
investigators located 47 expended cartridge cases in the shop. The
subsequent autopsy revealed 23 gunshot wounds. Ballistics identified rounds
from 7 different weapons. No one else was hurt.

    HONORABLE MENTION
Paul Stiller, 47, and his wife Bonnie were bored just driving around at 2
a.m. So they lit a stick of dynamite to toss out the window to see what
would happen. Apparently they failed to notice the window was closed

    RUNNER UP
Kerry Bingham had been drinking with several friends when one of them said
they knew a person who had bungee-jumped from a local bridge in the middle
of traffic. The conversation grew more heated and at least 10 men trooped
along the walkway of the bridge at 4:30 a.m. Upon arrival at the midpoint of
the bridge they discovered that no one had brought a bungee rope. Bingham,
who had continued drinking, volunteered and pointed out that a coil of
lineman's cable lay nearby. They secured one end around Bingham's leg and
then tied the other (!) to the bridge. His fall lasted 40 feet before the
cable tightened and tore his foot off at the ankle. He miraculously survived
his fall into the icy water and was rescued by two nearby fishermen.
    Bingham's foot was never located.

    AND THE WINNER IS...
Zookeeper Friedrich Riesfeldt ( Paderborn , Germany ) fed his constipated
elephant 22 doses of animal laxative and more than a bushel of berries, figs
and prunes before the plugged-up pachyderm finally got relief.
Investigators say ill-fated Friedrich, 46, was attempting to give the ailing
elephant an olive oil enema when the relieved beast unloaded.
The sheer force of the elephant's unexpected defecation knocked Mr.
Riesfeldt to the ground where he struck his head on a rock as the elephant
continued to evacuate 200 pounds of dung on top of him.
It seems to be just one of those freak accidents that proves.... 'shit
    happens'

IT ALWAYS SEEMS IMPORTANT TO THANK THESE PEOPLE FOR REMOVING THEMSELVES FROM
    THE GENE POOL!

EVERYONE THAT VOTES DEMOCRAT ON TUESDAY GETS ON THE LIST.LOL.

I was going to add "Socialist" to your qualifier, then realized that would be redundant.

Rick...If you dig deep enough you can find people from all walks of life doing the same thing. So maybe lemming just look at one thing and bitch about that all the time also, eh.

Like I've said before, union people are only 7 1/2 percent of the non-goverment workforce. So few people bother so many. lol

THE two congressmen, well ones a woman, that are up for election here,

the woman is running on HER small business experience, helping run her families business.

    the business,

#1 it was the crookedest tire shop around

#2 while it was going down she maintained here TWO COMMA a year PAYCHECK from said business, and left many creditors hanging for unpaid bills!

And last even though she sold outright a parcel of land to the state for a road improvement project, our city has been paying her bankrupt company a liece payment on the same parcel for an easement that went away when the state STARTED the road project!

I have yet to figue out HOW she could win anything by claiming anything to do with that tire company............

Of coarse while she claims the experience she never NAMES THE BUSINESS! AND NO ONE IN THE PRESS HAS ASKED EITHER!

watching that hole saga reminds me of lemmings running into the sea.......

    OR

    SHEEPLE following the pied PIPER!

Its hard to fathom what union would spend that kind of money. Do you know which one it was? Some of these so called unions shouldn't even be called a union as they give the rest a black eye if you know what I mean.

The Unions are going all out, they know that the $165 billion union pension bailout bill introduced by Sen. Bob Casey [D-PA] back in March has not been passed yet, and they are in DEEP S#!T if it doesn't get passed.

Of course you know who they are counting on to BAIL THEM OUT!

Sorry, the link was too long for the box.

    http://www.redstate.com/laborunionreport/2010/10/19/armageddon-what-democrats-are-hiding-why-they-are-really-scared/

Cut and paste to read why the unions are spending millions (well above and beyond even what they usually do) in support of Democrats.

I think you missed a couple of the Darwin awards. One was the guy the police found screaming and puking next to a mobile home in the middle of the night. He had tried to syphon gas from the gas tank but he had accidentally gotten into the mobile home's septic tank. Another was the guy they found dead out in the forest in a scuba diver's suit. No one could figure out how he got there until someone realized that there had been a forest fire a few weeks earlier and a helicopter had scooped him out of a nearby body of water in an effort to put out the blaze. True stories. :)

    dalog........thanks for the clips.

That reinforces what I've been saying. Government unions are the ones putting out the big money, not the private sector unions. If you want to stop the unions from donating money the same should be said for the business interest groups also, don't you think? There is no one way street!!

First, I would like to encourage everyone to vote for a candidate that they believe will do what is right. It is your responsibility as a citizen to be informed and this means cutting through all the b.s. that both parties put out. If you vote a candidate because of their party, you are weak minded because you have let some one else make your decision on who to vote for. There are scumbag Democrats, scumbag Republicans, scumbag Independents, and scumbags in every other political party.

The title of this thread sounds kinda like an elementary school student telling a classmate if he or she is friends with anyone the former does not like, that the latter will get cooties.

I don't know what your problem is and have no idea why I am on your black list. You have no idea who I am or what political ideologies I hold, if you did you would realize I am very conservative and do not associate with either major political party. What a jerk.

Thanks for reminding me that I am not known to associate with you Crapshooter. I have never felt guilt in my vote and I'm glad I vote as I do. We will see tomorrow what the results are of millions being poured into campaigns. Thanks to the Re[ublican supreme court they ruled it's ok to pay to play and now the rich can buy whatever office they choose to spend their money on. But if you screw up too much it just might be that you get your ass handed to you like the repubs did last election.

Oh Frankie, did I irritate you.. I forgot that you are a state government UNION person. Dept. of transportation right? Tell me are you still a grunt or did you get promoted to being the person leaning on the shovel? Or did you fall off the shovel and get demoted again?

You know I want to be #1 on your list, why won't you put me on top?

    Your union (retired) friend, Bill
