The Administration is right. If only Israel would be nice to its neighbors everything would be okay. I really thnk Panetta and the Administration is on to something.

    Let's see:

    1) To the West is Gaza and Hamas. . .

    2) To the South and further West is Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood. . .

    3) To the East is the PLO

    4) North is Lebanon and Hezbollah

    5) Further North is Syria

    6) North and to the East is Iran

Yes, if only Israel could "mend fences" with its neighbors.

P.S., have they started letting Jews into Saudi Arabia yet?

Let's just send Jimmy Carter over there. Maybe he can build some Habitat for Humanity houses in the Gaza strip.

Shame on the Israelis for getting in the way of all those Hamas rockets.

I'd like to hear people's perception of the reason the USA supports Israel so strongly.

I know we send roughly about the same in aid money to both Israel and Egypt (in exchange for the Camp David Peace accord, which got Anwar Sadat assassinated), but the support for Israel is overwhelmingly positive, even if they continue building settlements and treating their native born Arab countrymen as second-class citizens.

Why do think this is the case?

"What shocks and worries me is the narrow-mindedness and the shortsightedness of our military leaders. They seem to presume that the State of Israel may or even must-behave in the realm of international relations according to the laws of the jungle- -the long chain of false incidents and hostilities we have invented, and so many clashes we have provoked;"- From Diary of Moshe Sharett, former Primer Minister of Israel in Livia Rokach, Israel's Sacred Terrorism published 980

Shamir himself has defended the various assassinations committed by the Irgun and Stern gangs on the grounds that "it was the only way we could operate, because we were so small. So it was more efficient and more moral to go for selected targets." The selected moral targets in those early days of the founding of the state of Israel included bombing of the King David Hotel and the massacre of Deir Yassin.

    Do you mean like this?
