If Bush resigned today, is this what his speech would be.....

Normally, I start these things out by saying 'My Fellow Americans', not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who more than half of you are anymore. I do know something terrible has happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all in lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid prosecution, let me assure you: There's been no breaking of laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people. I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out.Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners, including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't sink in

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about mosquitos, polar bears, and beachfront property than your economic security. We face real threats in the world.Don't give me this 'blood for oil' crap. If I were trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil fields and let the rest of the country go to hell. And don't give me this 'Bush Lied; People Died' crap either. If I were the liar you morons take me for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could be 'discovered.' Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence was faulty.

Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam had the goods, same as me. Let me also remind you that regime change in Iraq was official US policy before I came into office. Clinton established that policy. Bet you didn't know that, did you?You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy. Back during the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic models squaring off. We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do. We were simply able to out spend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care if they survive. In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they can. But they are. They want to kill you, and the bastards are all over the globe. You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in the United States since September 11. But you're not. That's because you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law enforcement, and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that. When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and difficult fight. I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor.'

Instead, you've grown impatient. You're incapable of seeing things through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do. You think that wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy. Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, you might just as well FedEx a grenade launcher to a Jihadist. It amounts to the same thing.

[IMG] In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth. It's all over the Internet, it just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter. Most of you would rather watch American Idol.I could say more about your expectations that the government will always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city that's below sea level and has a Cat 5 hurricane approaching. I could say more about your idiotic belief that government, not your own wallet, is where the money comes from. But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do so, it would sail right over your heads. So, I quit. I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient house down there (Al Gore could only dream of) and the capability to be fully self-sufficient. No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of America fall. Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too. That means Pelosi is your new President. You asked for it - you can have her. Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there are just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.So that's it. God bless what's left of America. Some of you know what I mean. The rest of you - kiss my ass!

Understandable as it'd be, GW will never make that speach 'cause he's not a quitter.

I don't give a rip-$hit if his favorability ratings are in the 30 percentiles? If G W Bush had only a 1% favorability rating I would be among that one percent!

It's funny how many have fallen into the theory put forth by the MSM that President Bush is a dim bulb. But every serious interview he has given has had the interviewer come away with an appreciation of his intellect and his understanding of the World we live in. I have a problem with some of his domestic policies but as Commander in Chief, we have been well led. His decisions in Iraq were from his advisor's and military officers. He has admitted we were late in changing policy but we have and it's working. If we had the same spineless populace and media in WWII as now, we would all be speaking German or Japanese. I'm a Viet Nam Vet and know of what I speak in that regard. Jimmy Borum

He is just not a very good speaker. Look at Obama, He says nothing very well. It is going to get him the presidency or at least the democratic nomination. Clinton had the knack as well as Reagan.
Sadly most people are very easily swayed if you can lay on the charm. Thats usually all it takes

Gotta post it again.

"22 WAYS TO BE A GOOD DEMOCRAT:

1. You have to be against capital punishment, but support abortion on demand.

2. You have to believe that businesses create oppression and governments create prosperity.

3. You have to believe that guns in the hands of law-abiding Americans are more of a threat than U.S. nuclear weapons technology in the hands of Chinese and North Korean communists.

4. You have to believe that there was no art before Federal funding.

5. You have to believe that global temperatures are less affected by cyclical documented changes in the earth's climate and more affected by soccer moms driving SUV's.

6. You have to believe that gender roles are artificial but being homosexual is natural.

7. You have to believe that the AIDS virus is spread by a lack of federal funding.

8. You have to believe that the same teacher who can't teach 4th-graders how to read is somehow qualified to teach those same kids about sex.

9. You have to believe that hunters don't care about nature, but loony activists who have never been outside of San Francisco do.

10. You have to believe that self-esteem is more important than actually doing something to earn it.

11. You have to believe that Mel Gibson spent $25 million of his own money to make 'The Passion of the Christ' for only financial gain.

12. You have to believe the NRA is bad because it supports certain parts of the Constitution, while the ACLU is good because it supports certain parts of the Constitution.

13. You have to believe that taxes are too low, but ATM fees are too high.

14. You have to believe that Margaret Sanger and Gloria Steinem are more important to American history than Thomas Jefferson, Gen. Robert E. Lee, Thomas Edison & A.G. Bell.

15. You have to believe that standardized tests are racist, but racial quotas and set-asides are not.

16. You have to believe that Hillary Clinton is normal and is a very nice person.

17. You have to believe that the only reason socialism hasn't worked anywhere it's been tried is because the right people haven't been in charge.

18. You have to believe conservatives telling the truth belong in jail, but a liar and a sex offender belonged in the White House.

19. You have to believe that homosexual parades displaying drag, transvestites, and bestiality should be constitutionally protected, and manger scenes at Christmas should be illegal.

20. You have to believe that illegal Democratic Party funding by the Chinese Government is somehow in the best interest to the United States.

21. You have to believe that this message is a part of a vast, right wing conspiracy.

22. You have to believe that it's okay to give Federal workers off on Christmas Day but it's not okay to say "Merry Christmas."

I wish "W" had really said some of this stuff, and a long time ago.

What grips me is that he's has never counter-attacked the people who have been cutting him up ever since he "Stole" the election from Algore. I kept hearing stuff like "It's just not what Republicans do." BS! I wish he HAD gotten down to their level. When people hear one-sided crap long enough they tend to believe it.

A long time ago, right before we invaded Iraq, we here on TS.com had a sort of informal poll; something like: "Do you think we should invade Iraq?" I was one of a few who said "No". I didn't think it was a good idea and I didn't want to spend the money. I wasn't 'solidly' against it but I was CON invasion. As soon as we did [invade], I got behind not only our GIs but THE IDEA as well. I've stayed there ever since. You just can't say "Well, I support the troops." without supporting the whole package. If you do, you're sounding like a hypocrit (or is it hypocrite?). ;>)

Do I think mistakes were made in the war? Yes. I think "W" waited a bit too long to get the guys he has leading now in there. It took Lincoln about as long to get rid of McClellan. Nobody's perfect. You gotta give him credit, he made one tough decision to invade. Neither Clinton nor Algore nor Kerry would have had the guts to do it.

$4.00 per gal gas. We asked for it. There's at least 35 years worth of oil in just one part of ANWR. People, we're takling about an area roughly the same size as Connecticut. We didn't demand that we go up there and get it so now we got $4.00 per gal. gas. It's our fault. Heck, the Canadians are strip mining for diamonds up there and they're not worried about a few caribou.

Oh yeah, Katrina. I live in Colorado and I heard them warn people in NOLA to get out. That idiot Nagan didn't order the evacuation until all of his buses were under water. Bush told him to get out 36 hours before. But who got blamed?

I'm still waiting for them to blame "W" for the Kennedy Assassination, the Patty Hearst Kidnapping and Erectile Dysfunction.

Sorry for the rant. I just wish he had not just 'sluffed' off the oppositions comments for 8 years.

PS. stokinpls, those 22 are great! Please post them whenever you deem appropriate.

You'll never convince somebody who doesn't want to listen. Deckart's not alone, either here or on any other forum. There are literally hundreds of thousands who "think" like he does. When lies get repeated often enough, they become truths. Hitler understood this, as did Stalin. So do Howard Dean, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Hillary Clinton and our newest Irish politician, Brock O'Bama.

Hell, if we had known those guys would be this pouty about it, we would never have stolen the 2000 election from the Democrats in the first place...
