Here's an idea for a training video that came out of a discussion on another thread.

No sound. You can stop it anytime you want.

    [Begin]

All is grayed out except for a wide V shaped area over a trap house.

Gun rises to bottom of wide V.

Target emerges at bottom of V.

Clear area changes from the V to a 1 foot diameter circle as it begins moving towards target.

Circle centers over target and stays there as target continues.

    Gun moves towards circle.

As gun catches the bottom of the circle, gun fires, target breaks up.

Gun moves past circle. Circle stays on smoke ball.

Circle opens up past edges of screen.

    [End]

Some coaches will want a red dot on the leading edge of the target, others might want the inner cricle of the top of the target to be high lighted. I don't visualize that when I shoot; I spend my energy on seeing the direction of the target and 'busting it into smoke' (standing on top of it, driving vision through it's center...), but these other options sound ok too.

Words in quotes added for coach to say. Maybe Vince Lombardi's voice.

    [Begin]

    1. Pan foot placement & station number (3), then view the trap house.

    2. All is grayed out except for a wide V shaped area over the house. "Look where targets emerge."

    3. Gun rises to bottom of V. "Mount your gun. Keep looking."

    4. Target emerges at bottom of V. "Pull"

    5. Clear area changes from the V to a 1 foot diameter circle as it begins moving towards target. "Pick up target angle with eyes."

    6. Circle centers over target and stays there as target continues. "Where the eyes go..."

    7. Gun moves towards circle. "...the gun will follow."

    8. As gun catches the bottom of the circle, gun fires, target breaks up. "Eyes tell brain when to shoot."

    9. Gun rises from recoil and moves past circle. Circle stays on smoke ball. "Follow through with eyes on target."

    10. "Dead target." Circle opens up past edges of screen as pan back to trap house. One line score sheet shows 'Shooter #3 [X]'.

    [End]

A set of sequences for each of the 5 stations would be nice with a different target path at each station.

Each sequence repeats until user hits the [Next>] button or the [Back<] button. A [Slow] motion button is needed as well as a [No stop] mode where there is no stopping between each of the sequences. [Esc] puts you back into regular motion after [Slow] and [No stop].

Different gun hold points and other variations for advanced study.

You'd rather we use Jane Fonda's voice instead of Vince Lombardi's?

Tweaked quoted parts. Added new item 1.

Just trying to pass it on.
