I think it is very unfair to be the lead of guy in doubles.I think if you are lead off you should get to see a pair.I know this probably has come up before and am relatively new to doubles but it a big atvantage to the other shooters.

This rule does exist in PITA.

Uhhhhh why can't you see a pair??? Ask if the squad is ready, ask if the scorer is ready and ask for a pair. Whats stopping you?

I think he wants to see a pair on each post. Might cost the club a few bucks but makes it easier to fill those post 1's at every shoot. I like it!!

As mentioned in PITA the squad leader can ask for a Look See pair at each station if he/she wants that. Also in PITA you must get 2 broken targets in a row before you are allowed to look at a freebie target in Singles or Handicap. Also in PITA Doubles if you miss the first target and claim a misfire on the 2nd bird you are allowed to repeat the Pair but you must shoot at the first target and it will be called LOST whether you break it or not. In ATA the above situation is LOST A PAIR because you are not allowed a misfire on the 2nd bird after you miss the first one.

I shoot lead off on doubles all the time.

If you can't stand the heat, don't sign up for lead off.

If you can't visualize where the targets will be you're going to struggle no matter which post you start on.

You can always accidentlly cough before the start of each post. In reality V10 has the answer. Just don't shoot in the squad leaders spot.

If I'm scoring and you call for a pair at each post, its gonna be lost a pair from post 3 on. With a cough, it depends on how sick you look.

You don't need to see a pair from each post, if the targets are set properly they always fly the same place. Like V-10 said.....if you can't stand the heat don't sign up for leadoff.

romie--What does V10's doubles average have to do with anything? I'll tell you that he is a State Delegate and is no rookie to doubles with over 40,000 registered in doubles alone.

If you don't ever shoot leadoff, you're at a big disadvantage if you are the leadoff in a shootoff. Also I thought leadoff could look at 2 pair from the 1st post only.

Anyone who shot 40,000 registered Doubles might refuse to lead off. Plenty of registered shoots have the #2 man leading off because it's so hard to find a #1 shooter. More targets are wasted by loudmouths and speaker bouncers when changing positions!!
