Took Mom's dog out for partridge yesterday here in MI. I think she finally has got it! No more gunshyness or running out of range, and she got her first bird! Didn't bring the camera on this trip, but here is a pic of my new hunting dog. She is the one in front, the rest are friends and family. Looking forward to many years of fun with her. Bill

A gang of yellow dogs in the creek - doesn't get much better than that!

My old yellow dog has been retired from hunting for a couple of years now but he got in on many full limit days with me. Wonderful companions that really add to a day in the field.

Treat her good and enjoy your time together.

Give her lots of love and you will have your best hunting partner ever. Labs love to have something important to do within the {pack]family.Hunting retreaving and guide dog is what they do best.I have had labs for over 40 years and have hunted with them all over the country. My 5 year old yellow a friend and I are going for grouse in a couple weeks in northern Wi.

Have fun and enjoy your hunting partner.

Sir Miss alot. And there is nothing wrong with that.

For the rest. I hunted one year in the last 35 without a dog. Never again. It just was no fun. My yellow will probably see here last hunts this fall. Stated getting gimpy earlier this year and is gettting worse. I'm getting to old to get another so my shorthair will have to do double duty. There is just nothing like loving a dog and getting twice the love back. No matter what breed.

This ol' girl had a lot of Michigan grouse and woodcock by the time she was done.

This little turd is just 6 months old. She's got the drive...I just need to figure out how to contain it.

But her sister would rather sit on the couch and eat bananas all day long.

WPT. That IS a great face. If he/she could talk it looks like he is saying "but dad I was just trying to remove the string that was hanging from you sweater and all of a sudden it just came apart". If you can't love a pup you need help.
